The Ribble Valley is fortunate to have more live music per capita than most cities in Britain, and events that cater for a wide range of tastes in music.

The festival season started early this year with the 2017 Ribble Valley Music Festival leading off in March. This festival is managed by unpaid volunteers, and has received recognition from The Queen for being unique as a festival to raise funds for the churches in the Ribble Valley.

Award  winning Wingates Band opened the festival with a performance of music from around the world and brought the audience at Christ Church Chatburn to their feet with an instantaneous standing ovation.

The international flavour continues on 8th April when IL Destino Duo follow their critically acclaimed shows at prestigious events across Europe and America, and return from their tour in the Far East to perform at St Mary’s Centre in Clitheroe.

Il Destino are tenor and platinum selling recording artist Jon Christos and the award winning celebrated West End and Broadway star Adam Lacey. They offer something for everyone with songs from the repertoire of Andrea Bocelli and The Three Tenors plus Broadway hit shows with one or two surprises thrown in from their love of Elvis Presley, The Rat Pack and Michael Bublé.

Rossendale Ladies Choir will provide contrasting harmony with a special selection for their debut performance in the Ribble Valley.

Clive Greenwood from Ribble Valley Music commented, “We are delighted to be bringing Il Destino to the Ribble Valley Music Festival in Clitheroe, and together with the Rossendale Ladies Choir, this event provides a unique celebration of the voice. “

Tickets are £10 from St Mary’s Centre, Church Street, Clitheroe, or by calling 01200 422828 or 01254 384893. There is no booking fee. There will be a pay bar. Proceeds go to St Mary Magdalene Church.
