Rossendale Ladies Choir perform at Cartmel Priory

The Rossendale Ladies Choir were very privileged to be invited to sing at the beautiful Cartmel Priory in the Lake District on Saturday 28th April.  This concert opened the annual concert programme for the priory, and it was an honour for a Rossendale Choir to be given this opportunity. The performance was of an extremely high standard and this long established choir did the valley proud!

The programme was very varied and covered music across a range of religious, English folk song, African and contemporary themes.  Soloists  Lisa Davies, Charles Crowley and Chris Calvert also contributed to this lovely event.

The ladies choir is 35 years old this September and still has a few of the founding members singing.

Along with Musical Director Kate Shipway and the Rossendale Male Voice Choir, the ladies will be travelling to Germany at the beginning of May to participate in the European weekend in Bocholt, our twin town.  The choirs will be singing in a variety of locations throughout the town over the bank holiday weekend.
